Jetske Strijbos studied Educational Sciences and worked as a teacher and policy officer at universities of applied sciences. Currently, she is a member and doctoral researcher of the Multidisciplinary Institute of Teacher Training (MILO) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Besides policy support work, she is doing research into students’ school belongingness at secondary schools. Through a multiple case study design, she explores whether, how and under what conditions voicing methods (photovoice and collaborative research) can contribute to socially vulnerable students’ experiences of school belongingness, to the teaching practice of teaching staff and to the school culture.
